GRACE CENTER COUNSELORS

Meet Our Team

We collaborate with licensed clinical counselors to foster an environment where the lives of each person we interact with will be profoundly changed by being known, heard, & seen.

ALICIA PEREZ | Counselor

Hi, I’m Alicia, and I have had the joy of serving as a full-time Biblical counselor at The Grace Center since we opened our doors on March 7, 2023. My heart is to walk with people through the highs and lows of life — offering a safe, grace-filled space where healing and transformation can happen through the power of the Gospel.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Ministerial Leadership from Northwest University in Washington and am currently working toward my LMSW through Northwest Nazarene University. My own personal journey through counseling has been deeply formative, and it is one of the reasons I am so passionate about helping others experience God’s healing and hope.

Born and raised in Burley, Idaho, I am grateful for deep roots in this community. I am also a mom to four amazing adult children (three of whom are married) and a proud grandma to eight beautiful grandchildren. When I am not counseling, you can find me painting, drawing, spending time outdoors, or hanging out with my golden doodle, Peanut Butter and Jelly.

Whatever you are walking through — whether it is anxiety, grief, relational struggles, or just in need of biblical encouragement — I would be honored to walk with you in truth, love, and hope.

MICHAEL CHECK | Counselor

Hello friends! My name is Michael Check, and I am grateful to serve as a counselor here at The Grace Center. As the oldest of seven siblings, I grew up in the middle of chaos, confusion, and fear — longing for peace. I searched for answers in a lot of places — including college classrooms and secular psychology — but that did not cure the depth of pain and fear I carried.

Then Jesus met me. He called out to me — and I answered (Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32). Through the work of the Holy Spirit and the love of those He placed in my life, my wife and I began a new chapter of ministry and service to Christ — walking a new road of hope and healing.

That journey led me to pursue a degree in Christian Counseling, along with Master-Level Board Certifications in Christian and Pastoral Counseling. My heart is to offer scriptural hope to those burdened by fear, confusion, and spiritual unrest — to point people to the true healing found in Christ alone; healing that IS Christ (Matthew 11:28-30).

Wherever you find yourself today, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

DEBBIE AMORELLO | Counselor

Hi, I am Debbie Amorello, and it is a joy to walk with others as a biblical counselor and certified mental health coach at The Grace Center. My heart is for people who are hurting, confused, or just needing a safe place to process life through the lens of God’s Word. I believe real healing comes from the unshakable hope we have in Jesus — and it is an honor to help others discover that hope for themselves.

My journey into counseling started from a simple desire: to care for people the way Jesus has cared for me — with truth, grace, and compassion. For the past nine years, I have had the privilege of counseling individuals, couples, and families through seasons of anxiety, depression, grief, identity struggles, relational challenges, and spiritual growth.

I am certified through Light House University and hold a Bachelor of Science degree from CSU Stanislaus, along with a teaching credential from Teachers College of San Joaquin.

Outside of ministry, I love being with my husband and family, cooking up something new in the kitchen, or soaking in the beauty of God’s creation in the garden. Wherever you are on your journey, I would be honored to walk with you.
